How U-Lamp® works

The special screen that the U-Lamp is equipped with allows you to trap and shield radiation that is harmful to the skin and the eyes while letting only non-harmful wavelengths through.

U-Lamp acts directly by offsetting the bacterial/viral load in the air at the moment in which it is exhaled, preventing bystanders from inhaling contaminated air.

 

It also directly and continuously sanitises objects and surfaces, e.g. a pen, a mobile phone, and money passed from one hand to the other.

The UV lamps on the market cannot be irradiated directly on the skin. This is why they are used inside the devices or in confined places when people are not present.

U-Lamp has a patented filter that filters UV light to be harmless for humans but effective on aerosols by direct irradiation.

Air quality in enclosed spaces is vital for our health, with ultraviolet (UV) rays playing a significant role. Part of the electromagnetic spectrum, UV rays can be both harmful and beneficial: they can cause health issues with excessive exposure but also kill harmful microorganisms. The Chamber, developed by the University of Genoa and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, is an atmospheric simulation tool that replicates complex atmospheric phenomena under controlled conditions. It allows scientists to study these phenomena and test the effectiveness of devices like UV lamps.
